Happy Valentine’s Day! What a prefect day to write a handwritten note to your loved ones. Cheers to romance, hugs, kisses, dark chocolate and bubbly. XO

let’s make out

I’m getting ready for Valentine’s Day. Naturally, Jeff and I are going to cook a extra special dinner together tomorrow night. It’s something we LOVE to do, one of our favorite ways to spend time together. We teach, learn, share and enjoy every little detail during these moments when we cook together. I’m looking up some ideas for our meal and came across this post while browsing some of my favorite foodie blogs.

How do you like to spend your Valentine’s Day?
making room

Our teeny tiny apartment is so cozy—especially with a fireplace. It’s interesting to see how your belongings and treasured pieces fit into a new space or which takes priority over another when you make a change. We love having a fireplace. We love having an outdoor space in San Francisco, which is hard to find (photo to come later). We were sad to part with the vintage stove we own (now in storage) but come to our surprise, we got lucky with another that already resided in our new place. Who knew? We have a great view, we get plenty of natural sunlight and we are living with a little less stuff. Our apartment is coming together quite nicely.

It’s feeling like winter today with light rain and gloomy skies, so I’ll take advantage of my new teapot I received as a gift from my in-laws for Christmas. Isn’t she pretty? Her whistle is even prettier.

A sea of green

Our place has just the right touch of detail and character—check out our kitchen table. I refinished it with a little sanding and a couple coats of stain and refurbished the cushions with rad, retro velvet in a seafoam greenish blue. It goes well with our Trina Turk rug in the entryway/kitchen/dining area.

It’s the perfect place to enjoy dinner with a bottle of wine and freshly picked vegetables from our CSA. Of course, followed by some dark chocolate.
